Transposition

Transposition generally means shifting the pitch of a note by a specific interval value. Previously, we played single-pitch arpeggios where individual notes were played in patterns and sequences within the pitch range selected in the Arpeggiator. ChordWalk allows you to shift the arpeggio by any interval value over multiple steps in different patterns, cycles, and sequences.

Transposition can simulate virtuoso playing, adding flair, color, variety, and depth to solos. It is also an invaluable tool for beat creation, enabling efficient and original beat compositions. It powers the engine for guitar and piano solo virtuosity.

Guitar solos are often played as arpeggios that cycle across several octave ranges using different note patterns and sequences. With different interval settings, transpositions can add texture, tension, and variety to arpeggios by seamlessly introducing notes from outside the selected key. The octave is the only transposition where all notes stay within a single key.
