Setting-up your Piano Keyboard layout
As a default, ChordWalk’ presents a piano instrument view with the “C” major key selected.
Any Key position on the Piano Keyboard Image will play the note that corresponds to that key position. There is an option to select a guitar instrument view.
Firstly, we will look at configuring the Piano Keyboard layout.
To move or resize keys, you must first unlock the keyboard with the Lock Keyboard icon.
Keys can be resized by moving the slider “Resize keys”. You can move the keyboard image view left or right by selecting and holding the image and then moving it left or right.
The “Keyboard Display Options” icon will allow the customisation of the following:
Display Octave Markers.
Display the note positions of a selected chord.
Display and play the lower octave root notes.
Display the first and second inversion note positions of a selected chord.
Display all the note positions for the selected key scale.
Assign MIDI note velocity detection to the notes on the keyboard. The velocity ranges from high to low going from the bottom to the top of a key position.
Display Double keyboards, one stacked above the other. The two keyboards can be locked together to synchronise their movements by selecting the Lock Double Keyboard icon.
Note: You can route the output from the Piano Keyboard or Guitar to play at any or all MIDI Destinations. Default on the Dropdown menu means the output is routed to all destinations. You can select one or more MIDI destinations to receive the Piano Keyboard output.
