Playing Triad Chords

Probably the greatest creative challenge music creators face is developing a simple chord progression that sounds inspiring, grabs attention, and builds a solid foundation for a great song.

ChordWalk displays the triad chords for a selected key on the bottom row of the Chord Matrix Panel in their scale degree positions labelled with Roman numerals. Select a Chord sector, and your selected DAW instrument will play the notes of that Chord. The chord notes will be displayed on the keyboard image, allowing you to play individual notes over the chord sounds. Select and hold a Chord Sector for the length of time you wish the notes to play.

ChordWalk empowers you to select any chord sequence to generate your unique chord progression creations. Just move around chord sectors and experiment with different chord sequences.

As you progress to the Sevenths and Borrowed chord options, you will be offered a much wider palette of chord selection options for chord progression creation.

ChordWalk displays, in a blue colour, the individual notes of each selected triad chord. For piano selection, the number of octaves displayed and key sizes can be adjusted using the “Resize slider”.

There is an option to display a double keyboard configuration as shown above. There are many other options for configuring the instrument from the dropdown menus. Experiment with different keyboard settings.

Note: Routing Chord Selection output to a MIDI Device. You can route the selected Chord to play at any or all MIDI Destinations. Default on the Dropdown menu means the output is routed to all destinations. You can select one or more MIDI destinations to receive the routed output.
