LogicPro, MIDI routing for Individual Tracks to Pair with creation areas within ChordWalk

Below is the MIDI routing assignment for individual channel selection in Logic Pro for iPad. One of the most revolutionary features of ChordWalk is its ability to route the MIDI data stream from any individual creation area and pair it independently with specific instrument tracks in Logic Pro for iPad. You can assign individual MIDI channels to each creation area within ChordWalk.

Steps to Configure MIDI Routing

  1. Activate "Run in Background":

  2. Ensure that "Run in Background" is active.

  3. Select "Settings" in the top right-hand corner.

  4. The dropdown menu, as shown below, will display the "Run in Background" option. Make sure it is activated.

When MIDI is selected in the settings menu, make sure that “LogicPro Virtual In” is activated as shown below.

In Logic Pro, select on a track number which is displayed beside the Track name. Select on the “information” Icon in the lower left-hand corner which will display the MIDI Routing assignment options for that Track. A dropdown menu will appear. In the “MIDI in Port” field, select “Logic Pro Virtual in” as the MIDI source.

Select on the “MIDI in Channel” field, as shown above. As shown below, a menu will display a MIDI Channel selection table. Select the MIDI Channel number to correspond with the MIDI Channel assigned to the creation area you wish to Pair with this Track.

The MIDI Data stream origination at that creation area will now be routed to this Track.

Remember, you can assign the same MIDI Channel number to multiple Creation areas within ChordWalk to be paired with a single instrument track in Logic Pro. This can be very effective when you are creating beats.
