Guitar Chord Selection

ChordWalk offers a real-time, fully interactive, fully authentic string instrument playing experience,

A guitar-stringed instrument view is presented when the Guitar icon is selected. As with the Piano view, select a creation tab, a music key and an octave range, and you are ready to start playing notes by activating the virtual strings.

There are two guitar-playing options: Chords or Notes view.

Chord’s view is shown below. Select a chord sector and the guitar note voicings will be assigned to each string in the order a professional guitarist would play them.

In the Chords view, you can play chord notes in three different octaves or in their first and second inversion voicings.

The Octave range and inversion sectors are clearly marked within each sector. You can select notes between octaves and inversions in real time.

Note pitch can be adjusted using the string bend option. To bend the pitch of a note assigned to a string, just select the string, right-click and pull the string up/down. When using a touch screen, hold the string apply a second touch and drag the string up/down.

Remember:
All stringed instruments have a limited octave range and have low and high-frequency cut-off points. When you are playing many string and wind instruments through your DAW, you may not hear any sound when you select a string at higher or lower pitches that are outside the pitch range. You may think that it is a bug or that you are doing something wrong. Check the frequency ranges of your instrument selection. Be aware of this limitation.

When strumming a chord, try to maintain an even stroke movement up/down across the selected string. It is important that you complete the stroke movement through the bottom strings.

Note: Routing Guitar strings Selections to MIDI Device. Default on the Dropdown menu means the output is routed to all destinations. You can select one or more destinations to receive the routed output from the guitar strings.
