In Options, select “MIDI Settings.

Once MIDI Settings has been selected; the dropdown menu below will appear. Here you configure the FL Studio to receive MIDI data from an external device or from the Virtual LoopMIDI ports that we setup for ChordWalk.

To configure the Ports to receive the ChordWalk MIDI data streams we just focus on the Input area below. The Input area will display all detected MIDI connected devices.

For this exercise we are only configuring the Virtual Loopback MIDI ports. The Ports are displayed in the Input area. Select a Port number and press enable. Select Generic controller. Select the corresponding Port number in the red “Port” field. Enter number 1 in the “Performance Mode Field.

Select “Refresh Device List.

Your Ports should now we recognised by FL Studio for assignment to Instruments in the Channel Rack.

Now that the receiving Ports have been setup to receive MIDI data from the ChordWalk, we will go to the Channel Rack and assign Ports to individual instruments.

In the Channel Rack, Right-click on an Instrument assignment, and the dropdown menu will appear, as shown below.

Click on “Receive notes from,” and a menu will appear to assign that instrument to correspond with an assigned ChordWalk port.

The MIDI data stream from the corresponding Virtual Ports assigned in ChordWalk will be routed the selected Ports in FL Studio.

Remember: to play multiple tracks together in the Channel Rack, you must have them activated. To do this, you must press and hold the Shift button while activating each channel individually.
