Bar and Measures

A song structure may assign a different number of bars for the intro, verse, chorus, bridge, and outro.

In the Metronome area, you can set the number of bars to display for the different sections of your creation from a drop-down menu.

Four bars of 4/4-time signature are shown in the image below. The Beat Marker is positioned on the middle beat of bar two. The Beat Marker will loop when it reaches the end of the final bar.

The basic unit of time in music is called a measure in the USA and a Bar in most of the world. A bar is a measure of time that is represented by the number of beats of a specific quality.

The boundaries of a measure are indicated by vertical bars, which gives the name “Bar” to the measure in Europe.
