Numa Player with ChordWalk on Windows.

Numa Player is a free, four-track MIDI player designed to help you quickly create and play meaningful compositions using ChordWalk on Windows. It supports a wide range of Virtual Instrument sounds and effects, making it an excellent tool for beginners and those looking to have fun with music creation.

The images below demonstrate how to set up Numa Player to work with ChordWalk on Windows devices. The accompanying video walks you through the setup process, allowing you to start creating and playing almost immediately.

With Numa Player, you can assign individual MIDI input channels to each Virtual Instrument track, enabling independent pairing with different creative areas in ChordWalk.

To transmit MIDI data between applications on Windows, you need to set up a Virtual Loopback MIDI Port. This process is outlined in the Creator’s Guide and demonstrated in the video below. We recommend using LoopMIDI, a free utility, for this purpose.

Once the Virtual Loopback MIDI Port is configured, you must activate it in Numa Player to play sounds with ChordWalk. To do this, access the main menu in Numa Player, as shown in the instructions below.

  • From the dropdown select Audio/MIDI,

  • Select MIDI Inputs,

  • Select the Virtual MIDI Port that you have setup using LoopMIDI

  • The MIDI signals sent from the assigned MIDI Channels of the Virtual loopback MIDI Port in ChordWalk, will be routed to the corresponding MIDI channels assigned to the individual instrument tracks in Numa Player.
