Connecting an iPad/ iPhone to a USB MIDI-enabled Device / Keyboard

Most USB synthesizer keyboards and other USB MIDI-enabled devices require a USB 2.0 A to B cable, as shown below.

  • To connect these devices to your iPad, use a lightning-to-USB adapter (shown below).

  • Connect the USB 2.0 A to B cable between the adapter and your MIDI device. ChordWalk will recognize the devices and display them as a MIDI destination in the Device Destination dropdown menu

  • ChordWalk allows you to select instrument sounds supported by your synthesizer keyboard or MIDI playing device.

Remember: you may require an independently powered USB hub if you are connecting a USB device that requires power from the USB port. The iPad USB Port only provides very limited power for external devices. Where USB power is required from the iPad port, it is recommended that you install an independently powered USB Hub for the Adaptor.

ChordWalk can send and receive data from all selected external MIDI devices.

You can connect ChordWalk to any selected USB MIDI Play Devices to play simultaneously with ChordWalk locally on an iPad, iPhone, or Mac.
